barbeques, car show, reunions, a parade and kids activities!
You will want to take in the Platte Valley Arts Festival at the Platte Valley Community Center.This annual visual arts show and sale is a favorite amongst visitors, and you, too, can participate by voting for your favorite painting, photograph, or scultpure. Admission by donation. Show runs from 10 am to 5 pm both Friday and Saturday.
Begin America's 250th Birthday Celebration with the Platte River Independence 5k followed by a free pancake breakfast provided by the Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department 7am till 10am. The traditional Independence Day Parade wanders through downtown Saratoga beginning at 11am and includes vintage cars, silly costumes, fire trucks and political candidates. After the parade, purchase some home baked pies and cakes at the Old Fashioned Bake Auction to benefit Platte Valley Kiwanis. The kids can participate in Platte Valley Arts Council's free Kids Art Workshop and take home a patriotic creation! The Platte Valley Auto Club hosts a Car Show in the parking lot of the Platte Valley Community Center and is a fun way to spend the afternoon.
Saratoga Days (afternoon and evening of July 4) features a line-up of fantastic live music.Downtown Saratoga transforms into a free music festival complete with food trucks and dancing! In past years, we have hosted Chancey WIllimas & The Younger Brothers Band, Cruz Contreras & the Black Lillies, That 80's Band, and Lita Ford! Watch for this year's guests on their Facebook Page. The best part of the Independence Day begins at dusk with a fantastic fireworks displays - fun for the entire family!
