There is so much going on in the “Good Times Valley” for the Independence Day Weekend that it could not fit on one page.Take a look and make your plans!!

THURSDAY, JULY 3

10:00am-4:00pm-Art in the Valley

Art show and sale highlighting many excellent regional artists.  Show is located in the St. Barnabas Rectory on Main Street and sponsored by the Blackhawk Gallery

7:00pm-Collin Raye Concert

Concert will be at the Platte Valley Community Center theater.  Tickets are $45 and can be purchased online  www.pvcenter@carbonpower.net or by calling (307) 326-7822

FRIDAY, JULY 4

7:30am-Pancake Breakfast

Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department is providing a free breakfast at the Fire Station on the NW corner of Spring Street and River.

 

8:00am- Cancer Walk

Saratoga High School Skills USA Cancer Walk.  Registration is $20 per person.

 

9:00am-3:00pm-Craft Show

Local crafters selling their wares in downtown Saratoga.  Contact Lisa Burton if you would like to be a vendor (307-326-8338 or 307-326-5417)

 

10:00am-4:00pm-Art in the Valley

11:00 am-Parade

Dozens of fun floats travel along the highway in downtown Saratoga.  The route begins at the south end of town on Walnut Street and continues to Bridge Street and then turns east.  If you would like to enter the parade, line-up begins at 10:30 and you must call the American Legion Post #54 at 307-326-9600 to participate

 

Immediately after parade—Old Fashioned Bake Auction

Live auction of homemade pies, cakes, cookies, bread and other goodies on the corner of Bridge Street downtown.  Proceeds go to the Platte Valley Kiwanis Club for their community projects!

 

2:00pm—Barbeque at American Legion Post #54

Everyone is welcome to the legion post on South River Street for a barbeque.  The entire family is invited and there is not charge but they are asking for a donation.  The Legion and Legion Auxiliary are fundraising for the Staff Sgt. Tyler Picket Memorial Park and their scholarship program.

 

6:00pm-9:00pm-Live Music and Barbecue

The Saratoga Resort and Spa is hosting Dave Moran’s Rocky Mountain Campfire during a barbecue on the Terrace (BBQ $18.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids), Dave performs crowd-pleasing Ragtime Bango, Guitar & Harmonica with a variety  of songs, parodies, humorous stories, poetry and tongue twisters!

 

around 9:00 pm-Fireworks

Fireworks will be launched in Saratoga courtesy of the Old Baldy Club.  One of the best places to watch them is from Kathy Glode Park on Constitution Ave

The Town of Encampment sponsors the fireworks launched from McClure Field

 

 

SATURDAY, JULY 5

10:00am-3:00pm-Art in the Valley

10:00am-4:00pm-A Celebration of Custom & Culture

Journey back in time to learn how the ice age to the modern age contributed to the culture of the Platte Valley.  Come enjoy brain tanning demonstrations, history panels, and more at the Saratoga Museum Pavilion. Call for more information at 326-5511 or visit  www.saratoga-museum.com

 

11:00am-2:30pm-Childrens Art Workshop

Free interactive art workshop for elementary-aged children.  Kids can choose to create sculptures, paint with watercolors, make sparklers and much more.  Children are welcome to come and go while you take in the Art in the Valley show.  Workshop will be located at St. Barnabas Rectory and is sponsored by the Platte Valley Arts Council.

 

5:00pm-10:00pm-Freedom Fest

3rd Annual Freedom Fest-Come support our Troops with a benefit for Wounded Warrior Homes. Grammy Nominated, Platinum Selling Artist Jamie O’Neal, Number 1 hits include “There Is No Arizona”, “When I Think About Angels” & “Somebody’s Hero”. Bobby Chitwood, The Teka Brock Band, and Harley & the V-Twins also playing. Pig Roast and Cash Bar will be available. $25, 13 and under Free.

 

8:00pm-11:00pm-Live Music and Barbecue

The Saratoga Resort and Spa is hosting Dave Moran’s Rocky Mountain Campfire in the Snowy Mountain Brewery. Admission is Free.

 

 

SUNDAY, JULY 6

 

10:00am-4pm-A Celebration of Custom & Culture

Journey back in time to learn how the ice age to the modern age contributed to the culture of the Platte Valley.  Come enjoy brain tanning demonstrations, history panels, and more at the Saratoga Museum Pavilion.

 

5:00 pm –Faith & Freedom Film Festival
